training philosophy, as quoted in Flex Magazine

"Muscle Meditator"
"I do a lot of reps. I don't believe in very heavy
weights, because then you can't feel the muscle; you only feel
the weight. Basically, any exercise I do is like meditation
for me. I really get into the set. If I don't feel that connection
with my muscle, it doesn't work for me. There's a place I try
to take each set where my mind and my muscle are working as
one."
Faramarz is known for having one of the best pairs of quads
in the amateur ranks. He trains quadriceps once per week and
believes in high reps for all workouts. He typically pyramids
his sets, doing 30 reps for the first set, 25 for the second,
20 for the third, 15 for the fourth and 20 again for the fifth.
